A photoshoot by the sea in Thailand
I met Marie whilst travelling in Thailand and was immeditately curious about this blonde Francaise, curled up in the sand-dusted cushions wielding aquarelle. We talked about photography, art and life and I remember looking though her work on her laptop, enamoured by her use of light and shadow. She had an incredible eye for framing and knowing which angles worked for people. A truly gifted and natural photographer.
One afternoon out in Koh Lanta, Marie offered to photograph myself and a mutual friend, having seen her work, we obviously jumped at the chance! Even on an island in the Thai sea Marie had her reflector and at one point was kneeling in the ocean, camera pointed up at us, reflector in one hand, gently telling us how to angle our chins as the waves crashed into her.
Marie was professional and kind, she made us feel beautiful and special. The photos she produced were stunning, I never thought I could look the way she made me look. She made me feel elegant, and I still felt so much like myself throughout the entire process. She encouraged me to pose in ways that felt natural to me, with props that were already mine, only making minor changes or changing her own stance.
The entire experience of working with Marie was one of the nicest days of my life, genuinely fun, and a memory that will always stay with me. And the cherry on top is that I have the photos to remember it by!
