Mural art: bringing walls to life

Murals painted in India, Portugal, France, Turkey, Thailand and Cambodia

“As a visual artist, I began painting murals in 2017 while traveling, alongside my photography. Today, I create murals around the world with the goal of enhancing and bringing beauty to the spaces I touch.

For me, it’s not just about leaving a mark, but about adding something meaningful and lasting after I’m gone—something that reflects the essence of the place and resonates with the people who experience it.”

A journey where the client is involved

Since I started painting murals around the world, blending my artistic vision with the unique character of each place. While some of my work has been created through commissions, bringing a client’s vision to life, I have also dedicated time to painting voluntary murals for local businesses and communities in Asia—places where art is valued but not always accessible.

Each mural begins with a conversation, an exchange of ideas. For commissioned projects, I work closely with my clients to develop a concept that reflects their space, identity, and vision. Through sketches and discussions, we refine the design until it becomes a cohesive piece—one that not only enhances the environment but also tells a story.

Whether it’s a large-scale commission or a project created in collaboration with a local community, my goal remains the same: to transform spaces with meaningful, lasting art

When I take on a mural project, I always aim to create something meaningful—something that reflects the spirit of the place. My personal style leans toward intricate designs, subtle details, and layered storytelling, but every mural is a collaboration, a balance between my artistic expression and the client’s vision.

This project was no exception. Painted for a brand-new hostel on the island of Koh Rong Sanloem, Cambodia, this mural was commissioned by a young couple in their 20s who had just opened their doors a month before I arrived. Their hostel had a clear identity—vibrant, youthful, and full of life, a place designed for travelers to connect, celebrate, and create unforgettable memories.

At the heart of their vision was a bold, playful, and romantic aesthetic, and they wanted that energy to come through in the mural. They envisioned bright colors, an explosion of hearts, and a sense of fun—something that would embody the name of their hostel while resonating with their guests.

For me, this was an interesting artistic challenge. I would have never painted hearts like this on my own, as I usually favor more intricate, organic designs. But this mural wasn’t about my usual style—it was about bringing their dream to life. So, I embraced the bold pop-art energy, using vivid reds, pinks, and playful shapes to create a wall that radiates warmth and passion. The final result is a statement piece—an Instagrammable, lively burst of color that embodies the heart and soul of this young couple’s new adventure.

This mural was more than just a job; it was a romantic collaboration, celebrating new beginnings—both for the hostel and for the couple who poured their hearts into creating it.
